Fall 2021 Updates

Blog-image---updates

Here are some brand-new features we want to share with you:

  • We’ve extended the capabilities of the “Catalog” permission. This will give those with a cataloging permission a small amount of access to the admin panel. They can now see items, the items importer, the barcode generator, as well as some information on the auction tab.
  • If you change your terms and conditions after you have bidders registered for an auction, they will receive an email notifying them the terms have been changed.
  • Planned maintenance notifications: In order to alert you to planned maintenance on the bidding platform, admins will now see a yellow message banner appear at the top of their browser window, both on the front end, and in the admin portal. (Your bidders will not see this message — just admins.) These banners will be active a few days before any planned maintenance. We hope you find them helpful!
  • Filtered Items: There is slightly revised UI when exporting tables in the admin portal. Broadly speaking, the Filtered Items menu will export or change all the items currently in the results, including multiple pages. The Selected Items menu will export or change only items with checkboxes beside them, and this does not extend to multiple pages. Here is a video demonstrating this change.
    • Here are a few use cases:
      • Case 1 - If you would like to export all items, users, etc., simply select Filtered Items, then select Export Filtered Item.
      • Case 2 - If you would like to export all items, users, etc. from a particular auction, simply use the auction dropdown filter at the top of the table to choose the appropriate auction, then select Export Filtered Item.
      • Case 3 - If you would like to select only the six items in a particular auction that include the word “Chevrolet”, then use the the auction dropdown filter at the top of the table to choose the appropriate auction, then select the six items, then select Export Selected Items.
      • Case 4 - If you would like to charge credit cards for all invoices in a particular auction, simply use the auction dropdown filter at the top of the Invoices table to choose the appropriate auction, then select Charge Filtered Invoices.
  • We have tightened security around the download of data from the bidding platform.
    • There is now a checkbox on the Permissions setup page that reads “Notify of Exports?” (A BidWrangler admin must enable this for you.)
    • When said checkbox is enabled, the admin will be notified of all .csv downloads (Users, Bids, anything) through an email.
    • The email also includes a link to a new table where any admin can see all exports that have been created. This is also accessible in the left nav in admin, entitled “Export Log”
